BBE Scholarship Gala

April 23, 5:30 - 8:30 PM

Campus Club, Coffman Memorial Union

You are cordially invited to attend an evening dinner event that is dedicated to BBE Departmental Scholarship Fundraising.

All proceeds will go to support BBE and SSM undergraduate students. We are switching venues this year and will be at the University of Minnesota Campus Club. The event will feature a cocktail hour with a student string quartet, a plated dinner, a silent auction, and the program presentation of Distinguished BBE Alumni Awards.

A reason to celebrate:
In 2006, the BBE Department was established by merging Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering with Bio-based Products (which evolved from Wood & Paper Science, initially known as Forest Products). As our Department turns 20 years old this year, it continues to provide quality education and research in key areas of biomass/bio-based materials including wood and paper, environmental hydrology, erosion and stormwater management, renewable energy, life cycle assessment, bioprocessing and biotechnology, food engineering, air quality, precision agriculture, building systems, and sustainability, etc. Not only is the department turning 20 years old in 2026, we are looking to graduate our 500th student from the engineering program. We look forward to celebrating these accomplishments with you and your guests.

As we turn 20, our goal this year is to raise $20,000 for student scholarships. We will continue to update you on the progress of our goal with every reminder email we send out.

To help us achieve our goal of raising $20,000 for student scholarships, we welcome our industry donors, corporate foundations, families, and individuals to pledge different levels of sponsorship to the scholarship gala fund. If you or your organization have interest in supporting scholarships in the department, we encourage you to consider becoming an event sponsor.

New this year, we are offering an option for those that want to donate, but cannot attend in person. Please consider the option to sponsor a scholarship recipient to attend the event in your place. Just select this option in the RSVP after selecting "No, I am unable to attend". We will connect you with the student you will be sponsoring.

Individual tickets are $200 per plate ($134 tax deductible)

One ticket to the event will include admission, a plated dinner, two drink tickets, and parking for the event.

Space is limited, please register by April 16th.
