The Minnesota Department of Agrigulture (MDA) funded the second edition of the Agricultural BMP Handbook, which was completed in 2017. Learn more about the handbook update

Overall, the handbook helps to address Minnesota water quality impairments. Specifically, the handbook is helps landowners, government agency staff, contractors, and consultants to select appropriate suites of best management practices to achieve sediment and nutrient management reduction goals in Minnesota’s rural watersheds.

Since its first edition publication in 2012, it has been widely used in support of planning best management practices and setting appropriate pollutant reduction goals in Watershed Restoration and Protection Strategies (WRAPs) around Minnesota.
