Bioproducts engineers design and develop engineering solutions for sustainable manufacturing and end-use applications of “green” products, including biofuels, bioenergy, biodegradable plastics, building materials, paper, and chemicals.
The career outlook for engineers trained in bio-based products, biological/biochemical processes and bioresources is outstanding. For students who take advantage of the many internship, co-op, or research assistantships available in the department, and who do not limit their job search geographically, job placement is close to 100%.
Starting salaries for recent graduates ranged between $60,000-$85,000.
