The Technidyne Northeast Area Manager will manage sales and support efforts for clients and prospects in the defined territory with a goal toward partnering with our customers. Primary duties of the Area Manager will be to develop, maintain, and enrich close working relationships with end user representatives. Strong communication skills are essential, especially when interacting with the customer representative responsible for making purchasing decisions and product implementation. Success for this position will result in the meeting of, and/or exceeding all sales goals and margin requirements.

Responsibilities and duties

  • Support and grow existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on and visit existing or potential sales outlets
  • Contributes to content of sales presentations by studying the type of sales outlet or trade factor
  • Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential opportunities within the markets that are supported
  • Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers. Submits orders by referring to price lists and product literature.
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, including weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Invests time to research and study instrumentation and applications of said instrumentation.
  • Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Attend industry trade shows
  • Travel required (up to 50 to 70%), depending upon activity level
  • Develop relationships with and become a valued asset to territory customers

Territory: NM, CO, KS, OK, TX, MO, AR, LA, MS

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in engineering, paper science, or chemistry
  • Paper mill experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel in defined territory and periodic international travel
  • Proficiency with computer OS and networking systems
  • Ability to work alone
