What drives you to be a BBE Ambassador?
BBE is one of those less known majors that everyone should know about. I enjoy talking to people as they are deciding what they want to pursue in college, tell them more about BBE, and help them decide if this major is the best fit for them!
What are your long-term career goals?
I absolutely love the food industry, so I'll be working in a food industry-related field. Preferably, something related to continuous improvement and how to make processes run more sustainably and more efficiently while constantly creating quality food products. I am also thinking of working in a non-profit organization, developing food technologies that either decreases waste or help more people have access to quality, culturally appropriate, and nutritious food.
What is your favorite thing about our department?
The intersectionality of environment, biology, and engineering makes it such a unique major. It gives a broader understanding of the world and how things work. The professors are all passionate about what they do and are supportive of students' learning. Everybody is friendly, and it is such a great community!
What are your additional extracurricular activities, hobbies, and/or interests:
I am currently the project director for the Food & Bioproducts Engineering Organization (FaBEO), which develops real projects that creates an impact in the community. I am also the Diversity & Inclusivity Commitee Director for the Science & Engineering Student Board (SESB).
What is a fun fact about you?
I've been part of all types of student governance from student government (MSA), student senate, and now, college board!
