In the Fall of 2020, Rosie joined the BBSEM Graduate program to pursue research in sustainable food systems. After graduating from Buena Vista University in northwest Iowa, Rosie spent a couple of years working as an environmental scientist with a St. Paul-based environmental consulting firm to conduct field work and develop natural resource management plans in a number of agricultural watersheds across the United States Midwest. While she continues this work, Rosie is now conducting research with Dr. Gary Sands to measure social indicators of well-being among farming communities adopting sustainable agricultural practices.
