Being an ambassador for the BBE Department is important to me because I want others to experience the same joy I felt when I found a department that aligned with not only my academic but also personal interests. Our department is very unique, and I am passionate about describing the major to anyone that will listen.
What are your long-term career goals?
After college, I would like to go to work in industry, specifically in research and development. I am interested in research related to biopolymers such as biodegradable plastics, biofuels and sustainable agriculture. I hope to work for a company whose mission includes lessening their impact on the environment.
What is your favorite thing about our Department?
My favorite part about the BBE Department is the close-knit atmosphere. I love how many people I have gotten to know in such a short amount of time, and how many of us share common interests related to protecting the environment.
What are your additional extracurricular activities, hobbies and/or interests?
I am a part of the Society of Women Engineers leadership team, and also a member of the Food and Bioproducts Engineering Organization (FaBEO) and University Running Club. In my free time I also enjoy cooking, running and visiting National Parks.
