Class of 2021
Enrolled Degree: Sustainability Systems Management
Emphasis: Corporate Sustainability Systems
Hometown: Orono, MN
What drives you to be a BBE Ambassador?
I want to be able to reach current and potential students and show them all that the BBE Department has to offer. When I first was registering for my classes my freshman year I didn’t feel like I fit in with my major, then my advisor told me about Sustainable Systems Management and it sounded like exactly what I had been looking for when applying to colleges. I want to be able to help other students who are in the position I was find out about BBE.
What are your long-term career goals?
After graduating I hope to go into the Peace Corps and serve in the environmental sector in a Latin American country. I plan to then go to graduate school and get a masters in either public policy or environmental science. One day I hope to work for the EPA doing environmental research or doing environmental policy work for the federal government.
What is your favorite thing about our Department?
My favorite thing about the BBE Department is the amazing faculty and students. Through the BBE Department I have gotten to connect with like-minded, intelligent, and fun faculty and students that I would have never met if it wasn’t for SSM.
What are your additional extracurricular activities, hobbies and/or interests:
I am the Marketing Manager of SSM Club, I am also the Vice President of the UMN Peace Corps Ambassadors, outside of school I enjoy running, cross country skiing, hiking, and playing piano.
What is a fun fact about you?
I have volunteered at the San Lucas Mission in Guatemala twice!
