The Forest Products Department (now Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering) bowling team, the Woodpickers, claimed the top prize this year by beating out the Foragers in the St. Paul Faculty and Staff Bowling League Championship. It was a tough fought match with both teams posting high scores, but the Woodpickers managed to pull ahead during the second game to clinch the win.

The St. Paul Faculty and Staff Bowling League had its beginning on campus back in 1948 with the Woodpickers getting their start in the league in 1970 as the forest products team. The name was changed to the Woodpickers in 1979 and has included many notable forest products/resources members throughout the years including Frank Kaufert, Jim Bowyer, Rollie Gertjejansen, Bob Erickson, Tom Milton, Lew Hendricks, Harold “Scotty” Scholten, Dave Carlstrom, and Lenny Reynolds as well as many subs. Throughout the last 48 years, the Woodpickers have won the championship a total of four times with the last win occurring in 1997.

The winning team this year was comprised of Max Herman (Academic Support Resources), Lucas Stolp (BBE), Marty Moen (VetMD), and Harlan Petersen (BBE) as well as substitutes Bill Ganzlin (CFANS Administration) and Nathan Pasch (VetMD).
