2015 DOE Race to Zero Champions - Everyday in the Eco Experience Building
Are you looking to build a new home with exceptional comfort, efficiency, durability, and indoor air quality along with built-in long-term performance, upgradability, and value? Learn how to build a home that “lives better, works better, and last longer” and is so efficient that a small renewable energy system could eliminate your utility bill. Three different building systems, along with an integrated mechanical system for heating, cooling, ventilation and water heating, will be displayed that could make your next home a “Zero Energy Ready Home”.

A special feature of this exhibit will focus on the design, technologies, and systems used by the University of Minnesota student team that beat 32 other teams to take the top award in the 2015 DOE Race to Zero competition. Their design, called “Impact House” was specifically targeted to look good, work great, and be very affordable, too.

In addition, every afternoon an industry professional with experience in Zero Energy Ready Homes will share their insights and tips for a high-performance home. And you can learn about three degree programs at the U that can set you up for a career in sustainable buildings.

See you at the Great Minnesota Get Together!
